Gnangara, Pinjar, Yanchep national park trails closed due to fire danger

THE Gnangara and Pinjar off-road vehicle areas and walk trails Yanchep National Park are closed until Sunday morning due to a fire danger forecast.

The Department of Parks and Wildlife said the Bureau of Meteorology forecast prompted the closures of both off-road vehicle areas in the Gnangara Moore State Forest until 8am on January 29.

DPAW has also closed the Cockatoo, Yanchep Rose and Ghost House long walk trails within Yanchep National Park until Sunday.

It follows several bushfires, including one in Pinjar on Sunday that burnt through 40ha and another in eastern Two Rocks on Tuesday afternoon.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services issued a watch and act alert for the latter fire about an hour after it was reported at 4pm on January 24.

DFES issued an all clear about 6.25pm, with the cause deemed accidental.
