The North Coastal Women’s Shed runs the weekly tutoring sessions at the Anthony Waring clubrooms during school terms.
Clarkson resident Ja-On Park, who has a primary teaching background, oversees the free program.
‘All current volunteers have the working with children cards,’ she said.

Mrs Park said the community service started in October 2013 and took place every Wednesday between 3.30pm and 4.30pm.
‘All children are welcome,’ she said.
‘Although the majority of students are primary school students, a few high school students also participate in the tutoring service too.
‘There is no need for school or teacher referral.’
