Councillor Rudi Steffens presented one 87-signature petition on behalf of Quinns Football Club at the June 25 council meeting.
Cr Steffens said the petition called for the City to move the soccer club to an alternative venue, potentially Riverlinks Park in Clarkson, due to its increasing numbers, and provide toilets and a changing block, and floodlighting.
Cr Russell Driver then presented another 302-signature petition from the club asking the City to improve facilities at Abbeville Park in Mindarie for soccer training, including floodlighting and ground maintenance.
Cr Driver said the petitioners wanted improvements to ensure the safety of junior teams and provide enough space and time for training.
QFC president Steve Alderson said they had more than 800 players, and needed the change rooms and toilets at Riverlinks in order to play.
He said Abbeville was also poorly lit, posing a danger issue for children, particularly during their winter training.
Both petitions were forwarded to the community development directorate for action.
