SPEAKERS and stalls provided information on men’s health and welfare at a Men’s Health Week event in Yanchep.

About 40 people attended the June 15 event, hosted by Yanchep Community Men’s Shed at the Yanchep Sports and Social Club.

Shed president Malcolm Gow said the event went well, with guest speakers also talking about fitness for the aged and several information stalls set up.

Mr Gow said the group, which started in 2017, now had about 40 members who make pallet furniture, cray pots and other items out of their Glenrothes Crescent premises.

He said they hoped to secure a lease for part of the sports club land from the City of Wanneroo soon so they could establish longer-term premises.

Last December, the City gave the shed a $9000 grant, which helped cover its rent of the current site.

Mr Gow said they also received a $6500 grant from the Australian Men’s Shed Association for equipment.
