The park’s marketing co-ordinator Jennifer Green said the Department of Parks and Wildlife’s Nearer to Nature program included exciting winter activities.

‘This year’s winter holidays will be jam-packed with things to do,’ she said.

On July 11, children can indulge in some local Nyoongar culture at the Coolangar dreaming activity including making bush jewellery, decorating a boomerang and listening to Dreamtime stories.

Later that day at the afternoon funky fossil session, they can learn about the earliest marine life and see evidence of these creatures in the surrounding limestone.
