Homeless man charged over Ridgewood incident involving 12-year-old girl

POLICE  have charged a man in relation to an incident in Ridgewood on Wednesday involving a 12-year old girl.

The 53-year-old man was arrested and charged on Friday.

The man allegedly approached the girl about 8.45am on Wednesday morning as she was walking along a footpath on Hinchinbrook Avenue near Ballymote Park, and grabbed her by the wrist.

She managed to break free after a brief struggle and ran from the area.

The man, of no fixed address, has been charged with deprivation of liberty and assault.

He has been refused bail and is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday.
