The Weekender photographed the old Clarkson Community High School friends on Monday afternoon at Mindarie Marina at the end of their fishing trip.
‘We were chasing snapper and dhufish about seven or eight kilometres out but got nothing,’ the 21-year-olds said.
Blake, who works as a polyethylene welder at an iron ore mine near Newman, bought the boat only recently. He is in the process of switching from fishing on metropolitan beaches to trying his luck from the boat.
The pair said they were careful about only going out when it was safe.
‘I just love it,’ Jahden said of fishing. ‘You’re out in the sun, it’s good fun.’
