JINDALEE resident Alexis Woodger and Mindarie’s Hannah Swart have made it to the finals of a national beauty pageant.

The pair is among six WA women vying for the title of Miss Galaxy Australia in Queensland on April 1.

Ms Woodger (23) said it was her first beauty pageant and she was proud to have built up the courage to apply.

“I’m really, really excited and looking forward to meeting all of the other girls from all over Australia,” she said.

“I really can’t go into nationals with any other mind set of I’ve already achieved what I’ve hoped to, and that is to have stepped out of my comfort zone and experience something so completely new to me.”

Ms Swart (19) hoped to show her potential as an ambassador for WA and believed it would be a great experience.

“I am looking forward to experiencing a fun-filled week with my fellow contestants in a beautiful location,” she said.

“Just like all the girls I hope to gain the title of Miss Galaxy Australia and all the amazing opportunities that lie ahead.”

The winner will represent Australia in the international pageant held in America in July.
