Jindalee: have say on The Spot Eden Beach Club proposal

Lucy JarvisNorth Coast Times

PLANS for a beach cafe in Jindalee are out for public comment until August 1.

The City of Wanneroo has invited submissions on the proposed cafe, at 100 Aurora Esplanade.

The operational plan for The Spot Eden Beach Club said it would be a place for people to “enjoy breakfast, dine, meet friends for lunch, or have a drink after work”.

The plan by Nummus Pty Ltd said it would have a “funky but refined beach club atmosphere” with ocean views.

“The site is a new build in conjunction with Satterley and it is our goal to create a destination venue,” it said.

“Both young and old love the coast and (a) beach club atmosphere allows people to socialise and relax.

“Perth customers have become more creative, fun-seeking and adventurous over the past five to 10 years… our final menu and beverage options will take serious consideration of this.

“Though there are many other restaurants and taverns in the Jindalee-Alkimos-Butler area that offer casual dining, the area is large enough to comfortably support another restaurant.”

The plan lists Tai Pham and Matthew Potter as directors, with Mat Walker to do the marketing.

It said Mr Pham had 25 years experience, including opening 11 venues in the past five years, including The Alexander Bar and Bistro in Ballajura, where Mr Potter has worked for the past three years.

The plan said there would be about 250 seats in the venue, a kiosk on the ground level serving takeaway breakfasts and lunches, and that they were seeking an unrestricted tavern licence.
