RESIDENTS can launch into summer armed with surfboards, boogie boards and sun loungers at a Jindalee event this weekend.

A community enterprise, Eden Surf Shack, that hires out beach gear will open on Saturday, December 9, at one of the ‘A Very Aussie Christmas’ events hosted by Eden Beach Estate developers.

The enterprise run by i60 Community Services will also lease out umbrellas and sand toys to beachgoers through December and January, with proceeds going into services it provides in the local community.

This weekend’s festivities will include the screening of Arthur Christmas at the Eden Beach Seaside Cinema and carols led by the North Coast Children’s Community Choir on Friday.

The free event will include food vendors and a visit from an Aussie Santa. The movie starts at 7.45pm.
