A PEDAL boat business proposal for Butler’s lakes will resurface at Tuesday’s Wanneroo council meeting.

The staff recommendation for the April 5 meeting is to approve in principle a commercial lease for Rob Pitchford to run a pedalo hire business on one of the Kingsbridge Boulevard lakes.

Mr Pitchford first approached the City with the idea in May 2015, and last December it was presented to the council, which decided to invite expressions of interest from people who wanted to set up recreational boating activities.

Mr Pitchford was the only person to make a submission, proposing to have 10 pedalos on the artificial lake and citing his past experience working for a hire boat company.

The proposed lease would give him exclusive access to 8200sq m on the irrigation lake, with the rent expected to be between $5000 and $10,000 a year.

Mr Pitchford said he would give a deputation prior to the April 5 meeting, which starts at 7pm at the Wanneroo Civic Centre.
