THE Lancelin District Community Association has started a fundraising campaign for a swim platform in the bay.
Committee member Kym Illman said the group wanted to moor a platform a short swim from the high water mark and needed help to reach its $7542 goal.
“These platforms are up and down our coast and prove popular with all ages,” he said.

READ NOW“The town is crying out for attractions like this that will keep visitors in town a little longer and provide locals with something fun to do.
“The town has had a problem with people jumping from the jetty for some time.
“With large cray boats using the jetty, the potential for jumpers to be injured is high.
“Offering an alternative like the swim platform will provide a safer option.”
The association is running a GoFundMe campaign at www.gofundme.com/Lancelinswimplatform.
“Given the level of support the idea has received thus far it is likely the platform will be in the water in time for the Lancelin Colour Blast on March 3,” Mr Illman said.
