A LARGER area of land in Yanchep will be part of the portion being rezoned to R40 density coding.
Last July, the Wanneroo City Council resolved to advertise a planning scheme amendment to rezone land west of Sun City Country Club, with a 908sq m section at the corner of St Andrews Drive and Yanchep Beach Road retained for public use for drainage purposes.
However, an engineering report later provided on behalf of the club showed that only 450sq m was needed for drainage.
City of Wanneroo land development staff agreed with the assessment, so the remaining land was included as part of the area for residential development.
The proposed amendment was supported by councillors at the December meeting and forwarded to the WA Planning Commission for approval.
