A 40-year lease will end at Two Rocks Marina

A 40-year lease at Two Rocks Marina will expire on Sunday, signalling changes for the way the facility is run.

The Weekender understands Transport Minister Dean Nalder has decided not to renew the lease held by Sun City Pty Ltd.

From Monday, the Department of Transport will be responsible for the facility, with plans still to be revealed over the use of the ship lifter, fuel services and the long-term future of people living in penned boats.

Department of Transport coastal infrastructure general manager Steve Jenkins said the State Government would make an announcement on the lease agreements at Two Rocks ‘once the current operators have been advised of the position’.

‘The department will contact pen holders and tenants at this time and representatives will be on site to discuss ongoing arrangements,’ he said.

‘Fees and charges will be maintained at existing levels.’
