Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said the library had established itself as a community hub in its 10 years of operation and was a well-used facility.

‘Ten years is a fantastic milestone, not only for the library, but for the community and suburb itself, that has grown immensely in the last decade,’ she said.

‘It will be a fantastic day of celebration and fun for the whole family with face painting, Story Time and balloon twisting.

‘In addition there will also be chocolate demonstrations, seedling planting and music from the Harbourside Choir.’

The open day, which will start at 9am and end at 3pm on March 21, will also include a cake cutting ceremony at 11am.

Children will also be able to publish their own books on the day using the book cubby facilities and there will be a fruit and vegetable stall hosted by Healthy Communities.

The library itself will also be open for normal use between 9am and 5pm.
