The model uses modern technology to return policing to the days of having local police who are aware of specific suburban issues.

Residents of particular suburbs have dedicated mobile numbers to call for police to address general issues in their area, which are listed on www.police.wa.gov.au.

A key plank of the new model is having the community connect with their local police teams, Mrs Harvey said.

Nearly 50 residents attended the forum at Harbourside Village on March 20, and raised hooning as a particular concern.

Mr Jacob said he was committed to working with police to keep the community safe.

I value the opportunity to hear the concerns of residents first-hand because it assists me in best representing them in Parliament and working with police in our community, he said.

I urge residents to call their local police team if they have law and order issues.

The local police team mobile numbers are 0475 816 678 for Mindarie and 0475 810 947 for Clarkson.

Police say the numbers do not replace emergency numbers, and people should call 000 in life-threatening situations, or 131 444 for other situations requiring police attendance.
