Now sporting a number one buzz cut, Jo has raised more than $9000 from sponsors and collection boxes at Mindarie, Jindalee and Merriwa pharmacies.
Her inspiration for the World’s Greatest Shave is fellow pharmacist Natalie Ryan’s three-year-old twin daughter Skye, who faces two years of gruelling treatment and hospital visits.
‘Shaving and fundraising was a pretty easy decision when I understood a little about what the family was going through,’ Jo said.
‘Response from family, friends, workmates and even strangers has been amazing.
‘People have been telling me how brave I am (but shaving my hair off) was easy because I had a choice.
‘People fighting cancer and families that support them are the brave ones.’
Jo, who went under business partner Susann Povey’s razor watched by about 50 customers and friends, is fundraising until May.
