Roger and Julie Cull treated themselves to two new trees in honour of National Tree Day in July.
‘Planting them was hard work and we discovered that you really need three people and a trolley to make it easy on yourself,’ Mrs Cull said, who was dwarfed by the 2m-high specimens.
While the Yanchep Golf Estate resident designed her ideal landscape, her husband polished up his creative skills to produce the winning entry in the Peet Limited National Tree Day competition.
His short composition said the estate was better with trees because ‘it creates a relaxing atmosphere, a feeling of peace and harmony with the environment.’
‘The sound of birds in the trees gives it a country feel, a place which makes you relax and proud to call home,’ he wrote.
