In unwittingly becoming the 50,000th visitor to the museum since it opened in September 2009, she received a gift hamper from the City of Wanneroo.

She was visiting as part of the Home and Community Care program.

And Ms Hopkins remembers the old Wanneroo Road as depicted in the museum.

The museum has more than 550 objects and photographs on display, including a road roller used to build Wanneroo Road, an original beach shack and treasures from shipwrecks.

It has small exhibition changes every six months with loans from WA Maritime Museum and recently added a Yanchep row boat to its collection.
