A MAN has been charged with deprivation of liberty and indecent assault after he allegedly attacked a woman in her Yanchep home.
Police allege the 37-year-old man followed the 44-year-old victim home after they had been with friends at a nearby home on November 6.
Senior Sergeant Brad Burnett said the man knocked on the door of the woman’s home, saying he wanted to continue drinking with her, but the woman refused.
“He allegedly entered against her wishes and was hugging and kissing her on the neck,” he said.
He alleged the man further assaulted the woman and wouldn’t allow her to leave.
He said the woman phoned a male friend but the alleged offender had left by the time he arrived.
About three weeks later, it is alleged the man punched the friend, aged in his 50s, when he questioned him about the incident.
In addition to the deprivation of liberty and indecent assault charges, police charged the man with aggravated burglary for allegedly forcing his way into the woman’s home and assault for allegedly punching the woman’s friend.
He is due to appear in Joondalup Magistrates Court on December 30.
