Lancelin: Elderly man and woman injured after another serious crash on Indian Ocean Drive

UPDATE: A woman in her 70s was transported to Royal Perth Hospital in a serious condition after a crash on Indian Ocean Drive near Lancelin today.

A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said a man in his 70s was also taken to hospital, however he was transported by ambulance and his injuries were only minor.

EARLIER: THE RAC Rescue helicopter is currently on the scene of another serious crash on Indian Ocean Drive near Lancelin.

Police and Department of Fire and Emergency Services staff are also on the scene.

The northbound lane of Indian Ocean Drive has been shut down.

The stretch of road has received a significant amount of publicity lately after a string of serious crashes.

The State and Federal Government announced $7 million for safety upgrades on Saturday.

A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said the rescue helicopter was currently at the scene, although no further details were available.
