WORK is under way on a five storey apartment building with 44 units beside Mindarie Marina.

Construction of Stirling Capital’s residential development, The Marina, started in July and since then, piling and bulk excavation works have been completed, footings laid, and a crane put on site.

Director Luke Reinecke said the project, being built by Pyramid Construction, was on track to be complete by the end of 2014.

‘We’re entering an exciting time for the project now; locals can expect to see the project progress through the various stages of construction between now and the end of 2014,’ Mr Reinecke said.

Moore MHR Ian Goodenough said the 20m crane arrived about October 11.

‘Unlike the City of Perth, the sight of large fixed cranes is a rare occurrence in the City of Wanneroo ” it is a sign that the City is maturing with larger scale construction developments,’ he said. ‘Interestingly, it is the second fixed crane in the 6030 area ” with the other one located at Ocean Keys Shopping Centre.’

The building sits on a 2364sq m block on Bristol Lane and will have 3270sq m of floor space.

A spokesman for the sales agent Blackburne Property Group said the apartments sold out within eight days.
