Recently-appointed hospitality general manager Andrew McGie is overseeing the redevelopment, designed by Macdonald Jones Architecture.

“It’s a very exciting time with the investment and redevelopment happening at Mindarie Marina,” he said.

“The redevelopment of the new functions and events facility that is taking shape at Mindarie Marina represents a $5 million spend. The development involves a combined new small pool bar concept and a state-of-the-art reception and conference facility.”

Mr McGie said the reception and conferencing facility would have a cathedral roof, floor-to-ceiling windows and views across the marina.

“The building will also include a purpose-built wedding platform over the marina,” he said.

“The stylish poolside alfresco venue will offer Argentinian-style charcoal-grilled fare, alongside a range of artisan hand-crafted beers and ciders, refreshing sangria and cocktail carafes.”

Mr McGie said construction should finish in April and the reception centre and pool bar would open soon after.

There will be two reception rooms with seating capacity for 250 and 100 people respectively, or 350 if opened into one room.

“The rooms have been specifically designed to cater for weddings, conferences, seminars, product launches and school balls.”
