The Clarkson resident will take part in this year’s World’s Greatest Shave for the Leukaemia Foundation by shaving his hair on March 12.

Mr Jones said he decided to take part to support his mother Narelle, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in January.

Having lost family members to cancer, he also wanted to raise money to support people with blood cancer.

‘I’ve got a lot of family who have been affected by cancer. My mum is going through chemo,’ he said.

A maths teacher at Carine Senior High School, Mr Jones said Year 12 students would be collecting money as well.

‘I’m going to be getting my hair shaved at the school,’ he said.

He has exceeded his $500 target, with sponsors donating online at http://my-.leukaemiafoundation.org.au/MrJones.
