FAST food giant McDonalds has lodged a development application for a $2.2 million store in Clarkson.

The restaurant chain has applied to have plans for the 24-hour drive-through outlet on Caloundra Road assessed by the Metro North-West Development Assessment Panel.

The site is adjacent to Bunnings on Neerabup Road and a future BP fuel station, which the panel approved in September.

BP subdivided the Caloundra Road site.

At that meeting, BP representatives said the fuel company had bought the site and was subdividing it into three lots.

Access to the business-zoned lots will be off Caloundra Road and Maroochydore Way.
