Merriwa great-grandmother Peg’s 101st milestone

GREAT-grandmother Peg Newcombe celebrated her 101st birthday this week in Merriwa with family friends and residents.

The RAAFA Cambrai Village resident, who lives in the Vivienne Bullwinkel Lodge, was born on May 14, 1917 in Kalgoorlie during World War I.

She married Gordon Newcombe in 1935 and they spent 60 years together, moving to Subiaco during World War II.

Mrs Newcombe has one daughter, three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
