Merriwa resident renews bid for ocean pools at Quinns Beach and north of Two Rocks Marina

MERRIWA resident Lewis Flood has renewed and doubled his bid for ocean pools.

The retiree hopes to collect 5000 signatures on a petition supporting ocean pools at Quinns Beach and north of Two Rocks Marina.

Mr Flood said he hoped to present the petition to the City of Wanneroo council in early 2017, asking it to write to the State Government seeking support and funding for ocean pools.

He first approached the council about an ocean pool in 2012, but in April 2016 the council decided not to proceed with a feasibility study, noting that the recommended pool location was not connected to existing or proposed groynes and did not contribute to management of the coastal erosion issues.
