Merriwa’s Lieutenant Scott Ellery said volunteers would be door knocking for the fundraising appeal in the suburb on May 26, but people could also donate at businesses in Merriwa and Clarkson.

‘There is such need for services like the Salvation Army in this area,’ Lt Ellery said.

‘People come to us requiring emergency help with rent, food, clothing, and bill assistance.
