Mindarie family share same birthday

WHEN Anna and Matt Bills starting going out in the UK, friends thought their shared birthday was “kind of cool”.

The Mindarie couple could not have dreamed that some seven years later and on the brink of Australian citizenship, they would have a baby boy on the same date.

Max was born a healthy 3.6kg in King Edward Memorial Hospital at 2.15am on his parents’ birthday, January 11.

But he was supposed to be a December baby and doctors wanted to induce him for an early January arrival, while Anna wanted a natural birth.

“He was due on the 29th of December so he came 13 days late,” she said.

“The hospital did not like to go past 10 days overdue. But I wanted a natural birth and didn’t want to be induced.

“So I said ‘let me go up ’till two weeks’ (before inducement) and they agreed. My waters broke the day before (on January 10).”

The real estate agent understood her and her husband’s birthday would now fade into the background, particularly for Max’s first next year.

“It’s not going to be anything to do with my birthday now, let’s be honest,” she said.
