AFTER almost a year on the road, a Mindarie teenager has clocked up more than 4000km and a video that showcases the beauty of Western Australia.

Jono Geldart (17) has released a video of the places he’s visited around WA in the past year.

“The video took me just under a year to make,” he said.

“I travelled all over WA for the video – from Jurien Bay all the way to Esperance, and everything in between.

“I went to Albany, Yallingup, Busselton, Wave Rock, Moore River, Yanchep and Bremer Bay.

A year in the making, thousands of kilometres on the road and a drone lost in the ocean while filming for this, this is…

“My favourite place was Esperance because it’s just a whole new world down there.

“The water is insanely clear and the beaches there are amazing.

“The whole drive is so beautiful down there and overall that place just opens so many doors for creating videos.”

Jono discovered a passion for photography and videography after back injuries stopped him playing sport.

“I hope to make a living out of videography, and hopefully get involved with Tourism Australia to show case the amazing places we have on offer,” he said.

“My next project would probably be video of Australia in general but that would require so much travelling to do and money as well.

“I’ve already put 4000km-plus on my car just filming for this, so doing Australia would be a new level.”

Jono said it had been challenging to get “the perfect shot”.

“Sometimes I’d do the same shot 10 times to make sure it’s perfect,” he said.

“Also, depending on the weather, it was a challenge to make some shots look good in the winter weather but it paid off.”
