Mobile cart taking art to people

Staff ReporterNorth Coast Times

Back home, Jane designed ” and husband Alistair built ” an art cart, a mobile exhibition space on wheels to promote artists’ work.

Jane is displaying paintings by various artists in the cart in her garden until May and then hopes to take it to Broome as part of a sponsored walk for charity.

‘I have always been keen to have my own gallery, but never settled for anything ” either I didn’t like the space or the cost,’ she said.

‘A mobile gallery can be pushed anywhere to exhibit little pictures, often little gems, in more remote areas where folk never have a chance to get to a gallery.

‘I soon realised I could use the cart as a tool for raising money for charity by taking long-distance sponsored walks, exhibiting as I went.

Anyone can exhibit in the cart free on a two-week rotation.
