COMMUNITY organisations can apply for Federal Government grants via a third round of the Stronger Communities Program.

The program provides grants of between $2500 and $20,000 to small capital projects in local communities.

Applicants are expected to match the grant in cash or in kind on at least a dollar-for-dollar basis.

“In the past this program has contributed towards the fit out of an op-shop, surf lifesaving equipment, community transport vehicles and the refurbishment of community kitchens,” Moore MHR Ian Goodenough said.

Pearce MHR Christian Porter called for expressions of interest from local community groups to fund small capital projects.

“The Stronger Communities Program is open to local councils and eligible not-for-profit organisations,” he said.
