The group of 35 students and staff from Irene McCormack Catholic College visited Bavaria in July, performing 12 shows in seven days.

Performing Arts program co-ordinator and music teacher Michael Newton said the event was a success and exceeded expectations.

‘Our students were very well-received with standing ovations and encores at almost every concert,’ he said.

‘Students came home with a massive sense of achievement and satisfaction. Everyone had a fantastic time and we already have students asking about the next trip and how they can get involved.’

Satterley Property Group donated $1500 to the tour, which Mr Newton said enabled them to safely ship the music equipment to Germany. As the college and music department grow, Mr Newton said their aim was to build up a store of equipment that could be used for travel and reduce the need to fund in the future.
