Name raises eyebrows

Two Rocks Yanchep Residents Association secretary Lorraine Jackson said she was surprised to find the City of Wanneroo referred to a coastal spot as ‘Granny’s Pool’ in letters.

Mrs Jackson said locals generally knew the area as Fisherman’s Hollow and access to it was not safe for ‘grannies’.

‘If it’s Granny’s Pool, then it’s really difficult for grannies to get down. If they are going to persist in calling it Granny’s Pool, then make it safe for grannies,’ she said.

TRYRA members last year said they had not heard of some beach names.
