AUTHORITIES are treating two bushfires in the northern suburbs yesterday as suspicious.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) issued the ‘all clear’ for a Neerabup fire this morning, which had burnt through about 10ha.
The fire near Pedrick Road and Old Yanchep Road was reported about 4.50pm on February 11 and about 50 firefighters attended from volunteer brigades as well as DFES and the Parks and Wildlife service.
Earlier in the day, about 60 firefighters and water bombers attended another bushfire in Nowergup, which burnt through about 1ha off Wattle Avenue West.
Both fires are believed to have been deliberately lit.
Emergency services were also called to several other minor fires yesterday, including in Gwelup, Innaloo and Clarkson.
