THE State Government has released the first artist’s impression of Yanchep Lagoon Primary School’s $15 million redevelopment.

Designed by T&Z Architects, the revitalised school will feature three new classroom blocks, a new library, covered assembly area and new hard courts.

Two existing classroom buildings will be refurbished and the project is expected to finish in May 2021.

“Once complete, the new-look Yanchep Lagoon Primary School will be a modern, vibrant school – to inspire teaching and learning,” Education Minister Sue Ellery said.

Butler MLA John Quigley made an election commitment to redevelop the school, which first opened as Yanchep District High School in 1975 and was renamed when senior students shifted to Yanchep Secondary College in 2018.

“The school provides a broad curriculum and students can participate in after school sport activities, a breakfast club, before school reading program and a school choir,” he said.

The primary school provides a broad curriculum and has specialist music, science and Indonesian teachers.

The Metro North-West Development Panel approved the redevelopment plans in early June.
