INSTALLATION of playground equipment at Lancelin’s Harold Park will take place towards the end of the school holidays.

The Shire of Gingin has advised that equipment to replace the structure removed in late October will be installed in mid to late January.

“A routine inspection of the playground located in Harold Park in Lancelin identified some safety concerns with the existing play equipment,” a Shire notice said.

It said the Shire had awarded a contract for its replacement after removing the existing structure.

“Due to long manufacturing lead times and businesses being closed during the holiday period, it is estimated the equipment will be installed in mid to late January,” it said.

“The proposed new equipment comprises a swing set and adventure multiplay fort.

“The choice was based on the aesthetics, corrosion resistance and suitability for a range of ages.”
