A NEWLY formed community choir in the northern suburbs is singing out for more members.
The North Coastal Children’s Community Choir will meet for the first rehearsal at Butler Community Centre on May 18, having held auditions earlier this year.
“The choir’s volunteers include professional school music teachers and those with many years of performance experiences,” president Janet Blenkinsopp said.
“A variety of singing strategies and techniques will be guaranteed to accomplish a harmonised not-for-profit community choir.
“Joining the choir will help to build confidence, and safe vocal and breathing techniques will prepare the voice for future singing careers on or off the stage.”
The choir is open to boys and girls aged four to 12, with annual membership $10 per child or $25 per family of three or more.
Weekly attendance fees are $2 per child.
The May 18 rehearsal will be at the community centre on Connolly Drive in Butler from 3.45pm to 5.15pm.
