“We plan to host social nights at the club, and offer a range of mountain bike and road cycling group rides with the sports club as the rally point.

“We also hope to encourage existing members of the Quinns Rocks Sports Club to have a go at cycling.

“Our next step is to find a local training and racing facility.”

The club will celebrate with a Tour de France-themed social night at the sports club on Saturday, July 21.

The club has also partnered with Act Belong Commit and Your Move.

“We aim to partner with organisations that have a vested interest in promoting good mental wellbeing and community involvement,” Act-Belong-Commit acting partnerships manager Sarah Graham said.

“Together we can raise awareness and participation in activities that promote good mental health, strengthen individual resilience, reduce stigma associated with mental illness, and build a more mentally healthy WA”.

Your Move encourages people to swap a few car trips a week for walking, cycling and catching public transport.

Dr Howard said logos for both organisations featured on club jerseys alongside financial supporters ABC Blinds and Bikeforce Clarkson.

“Love it or hate it, road users see our bright green kit from a long way off, improving driver awareness and safety for everyone,” he said.
