Northern suburbs emergency services volunteers recognised by City of Wanneroo

EMERGENCY services volunteers have been recognised for their efforts at an awards dinner in Mindarie.

The City of Wanneroo hosted the appreciation dinner and volunteer excellence awards this month, attended by members of Two Rocks Marine Volunteer Marine Rescue Group, Wanneroo/Joondalup State Emergency Service (SES) and Yanchep Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service, Driver Reviver volunteers and representatives from Quinns Mindarie and Yanchep surf lifesaving clubs.

Mayor Tracey Roberts presented awards to those who had excelled in their roles, including Rob Ross from the Two Rocks rescue group, Yanchep Fire and Rescue’s Mark Elt and Mathew Burke from the SES unit.

“Our emergency services volunteers play a vital role in keeping the City safe and this is just a small gesture in recognition of the tireless service each and every volunteer provides,” she said.

“Over the past year, our emergency services volunteers have donated more than 16,000 hours of their time to ensure the wellbeing of others in our community and the many visitors to our City.”
