GEARING up to open next year, Northshore Christian Grammar School welcomed two teachers to its primary school team last month.

Principal Stuart Chisholm, said that the appointment of the two Kingsway Christian College teachers, Sam Sheedy and Tanya Nichole, was a major achievement for the Alkimos school, which opens in February 2017.

“Sam and Tanya are both extremely well regarded by students, parents and fellow teachers alike at their current school,” he said.

“They make excellent additions to our foundation teaching team as we progress towards opening next year.

“I am looking forward to seeing their skills and expertise being used in practice for the benefit of our students.

After five years at Kingsway, Mr Sheedy will join the Alkimos school as an upper primary teacher.

“I am passionate about drama and music,” he said.

“I can’t wait to use these in the classroom to make learning come alive at Northshore.”

Miss Nichole will be a middle primary teacher, and is eager to employ the latest learning practices in modern classroom layout.

“I am looking forward to incorporating technology and inquiry-based learning,” she said.

Mr Sheedy and Miss Nichole join Richelle Schockman, from Alkimos Baptist College, who was introduced as the foundation early years leader in September.

Mr Chisholm said he would announce further appointments in coming months.

“The employment process for further teachers, education assistants and administrative staff is underway and we look forward to announcing further appointments as we move towards opening,” he said.
