Two reports prepared for tonight’s Wanneroo City Council briefing include details of both planned community facilities.
The playing fields report recommends including a multipurpose meeting room in the sports amenities building, stemming from discussions between the City and sports clubs about extending the Oldham Reserve building.
‘The demand for multipurpose space at Oldham Reserve is clearly evident,’ the report said.
‘This report recommends the development of a 100sq m multipurpose room at the Yanchep active open space based on it supporting a larger population of sports users (than Oldham Reserve).’
Another report outlines the draft coastal hazard risk management and adaptation plan for the proposed Yanchep Surf Life Saving Club and public amenities building.
Following workshops with representatives from the City, the club, Surf Life Saving WA and the Two Rocks Yanchep Residents Association, the draft plan lists risks around the building, the beach access path and the dune system.
The report recommends the council lodge the plan with the WA Planning Commission and note it will add $450,000 to the project budget.
