Pencil drawing earns prize

Staff ReporterNorth Coast Times

Irene McCormack Catholic College Year 11 student Patrick Flynn won the highly commended prize for his piece, Pseudo-Society, and it will also be exhibited in the Angelico Exhibition in Perth this month.

‘I have made a comment on the modern society in which we live,’ Patrick said.

‘By depicting the faceless multitudes struggling to hold up a very ornate and classical Corinthian pillar, I examine the way in which the wealthy and powerful organisations at times take advantage of those they consider beneath them for their own gain.’
