Permanent changes to bus routes after freeway extension

Laura PondNorth Coast Times

From April 10, route 484 stops on Walyunga Boulevard, Hidden Valley Retreat and Ridgewood Boulevard will be withdrawn.

The route will be permanently changed once the Hester Avenue and Ridgewood Boulevard roundabout is completed, which is expected mid-year, and Ridgewood Boulevard stops will recommence.

After completion of the freeway extension to Hester Avenue, route 483 will deviate away from the Baltimore Parade and Hester Avenue intersection and will no longer service Merriwa Plaza Shopping Centre.

A Transperth statement said the route would only return if traffic signals were installed at the intersection.

“While we regret these changes, they are necessary to continue to operate the buses safely,” it said.
