Firefighters battle WA bushfire

A BUSHFIRE which was posing a possible threat to lives and homes north of Perth has been contained and is under control.

Firefighters are battling the blaze, and a bushfire advice alert remains in place for parts of Regans Ford, Red Gully, Mindarra, Yathroo, Gillingarra and Mogumber.

People in the area are warned they need to stay alert and monitor their surroundings.

The fire started near the intersection of Mogumber Road West and Clarke Road in Mindarra, and has burnt through 312 hectares since it was reported around 11am on Thursday

A number of roads have been closed including Mogumber Road West between the Brand Highway and Bindoon-Moora Road.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully due to smoke.

Aveley bushfire latest

A bushfire advice warning remains in place for people near Millhouse Road in Aveley in the City of Swan.

Although there is no immediate danger, residents need to be aware and keep up-to-date in case the situation changes.
