Photo scavenger hunts a friendly networking opportunity

Staff WriterNorth Coast Times

THE Befriend Social Network is celebrating its expansion with a series of photo scavenger hunts across Perth this month.

The organisation aims to build a more connected and inclusive community by creating a social network where people can find friends and connect with others in their area who are looking to meet new people.

Befriend has supported the running of social groups that welcome all adults in Perth since 2010.

The organisation recently appointed community builder Lee Graf to expand the network into Merriwa and surrounding suburbs.

She has lived in the area for more than 20 years and volunteers as a host for Burns Beach sunset walks on Friday evenings.

To celebrate the network expansion, Befriend will coordinate free photo scavenger hunts in Butler, Caversham, Anketell, Armadale and Kwinana from August 19 to 23.

Participants, who must be adults, will be given a list of items to take photos of with their phones or camera.

Shots will range from a street sign beginning with the local suburb’s initial through to something friendly, with creativity encouraged.

The hunts will finish up at a local coffee shop where everyone can enjoy comparing photos and chatting.

The photo scavenger hunt for the north coast area will be held on Thursday, August 22 from 12.30pm to 3pm, starting at Butler Central shopping centre.
