It will all begin with a bang on February 7 as the free family-friendly Spanish public theatre spectacle of Veles e Vents takes to the river and sky around Langley Park for the first three nights, providing an explosion of fireworks, light, music and movement.

Artistic director Jonathan Holloway said the world’s greatest artists and many of WA’s most creative and talented people were collaborating to find new and exciting ways to create a Festival.

He said the 62nd Perth Festival would be ‘our exploration of what it is to be a 21st Century festival in the remotest and yet most connected capital city in the southern hemisphere’.
