CHILDREN at Yanchep Secondary College have been chased and threatened by a man during a frightening incident this morning.
Police were called just before 8.30am.
According to the Yanchep Two Rocks Alkimos Community Facebook page, an email from the school had informed parents of the incident.
“A bearded caucasian male chased some of our students along Morwell Street and came to the carpark on Ravensbourne Street and made threats towards a student,” it said.
“The police will continue to follow up on the complaint lodged by the school.
“We will be vigilant in our monitoring of students arriving at the school along Morwell Street.
“The gate on Morwell Street will be open for students to enter the school and additional supervising staff will monitor all students.
“You may wish to encourage your child to approach the school via Blackwood Meander.”
According to police, the incident may have been due to a dispute between students at the school.
A police spokesperson said they were working with the school to resolve the underlying issue and had identified the person responsible, but did say officers would visit the school again.
