Police continue investigating homemade bombs left in Two Rocks

POLICE are still investigating two homemade bombs found in a Two Rocks alleyway late last month.

Officers arrived at the scene on Whitfield Drive about 8.30pm on February 28 after reports of a big explosion.

The bomb squad attended to discover one exploded device and another intact.

Senior Sergeant Brad Burnett said the bombs would have been of more danger to the offenders lighting them than anyone else.

“It was sparkler material in a piece of pipe with two caps on either end,” he said.

“One went off, the other didn’t.”

There was no sign of the culprits when police arrived.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
