Sergeant Jason Macander said police had received more than 800 calls for assistance so far this year, and expected that number to rise to 2300 by the end of the year.
Sgt Macander said by comparison, they received 1376 calls in 2012 and 1058 last year.
Yanchep police station is staffed by a handful of officers and covers Alkimos, Carabooda, Eglinton, Two Rocks and Yanchep.
Sgt Macander said the figures showed the growing demand on its services.
‘There is no doubting the challenges in managing that level of growth but your local police station will continue to work hard with the community and provide a strong presence,’ Sgt Macander said.
Speaking at the Two Rocks Yanchep Residents Association meeting on May 26, he said police could only do ‘so much’.
‘Everyone in the community has a responsibility to try to stop crime from happening,’ he said.
